When seat pocket corrosion is detected, we offer two proven reconditioning solutions:
a. Oversize machining:
The corroded seat pocket is machined to an oversize diameter, and an appropriate oversized seat is installed.
b. Laser cladding with anticorrosive alloys:
The damaged area is cladded with corrosion-resistant alloy using robotic laser systems, achieving a full metallurgical bond with the base material. During this process, the cover is evenly heated to maintain material integrity, and the pocket is subsequently machined back to standard dimensions.
This laser cladding technique not only restores the geometry but also enhances wear and corrosion resistance, significantly increasing the component’s operational lifespan.
