Fuel Injector Reconditioning

Fuel injectors are among the most sensitive and critical components of a marine engine’s fuel system. Their precision design ensures accurate fuel delivery into the combustion chamber, enabling safe, efficient, and complete combustion.

When fuel injectors deteriorate due to wear, contamination, or improper atomization, they can cause:

  • Increased fuel consumption
  • Poor combustion quality
  • Carbon build-up in cylinders
  • Misfiring, knocking, or severe engine damage

If injector servicing is due, either according to the engine builder’s maintenance schedule or following the appearance of operational issues (e.g., fuel leakage, bad spray pattern, excessive soot deposits), expert attention is required.

At YAF Engineering, we have the know-how, equipment, and capacity to recondition all types of fuel injectors, including those used in two-stroke, four-stroke, common rail, and solenoid-controlled systems.

Our fuel injector reconditioning procedure includes:

  • Cleaning, visual inspection, and dimensional calibration of all parts
  • In-depth analysis of components like spindle guides, nozzles, and non-return valves
  • Reconditioning of sealing and flow-control elements
  • Lapping and polishing of all sealing surfaces to restore tightness
  • Replacement of parts failing dimensional or performance tests
  • Performance testing on a dedicated fuel injector test bench

By restoring each injector to its original precision and performance, YAF Engineering ensures optimum combustion, fuel economy, and engine protection.
