Fuel Pump Plunger and Barrel

At YAF Engineering, we offer cost-effective reconditioning of fuel pump plungers and barrels, extending component life and eliminating the need for complete replacement. Due to poor fuel quality or low-lubricity fuels, the helix area of the plunger and the clearance between the plunger and barrel often exceed acceptable operational limits as defined by OEM standards.

The good news is: you don't need a new plunger and barrel.
With our in-house remanufacturing capabilities, we restore these critical components quickly, reliably, and at a fraction of the cost of new parts.

Reconditioning steps include:

  • Chemical and ultrasonic cleaning of both plunger and barrel
  • If the plunger shows excessive wear or clearance, it is scrapped and replaced
  • The barrel bore is precision honed to restore a clean, accurate surface
  • A new plunger is manufactured in-house using CNC machines
  • Final clearance is calibrated in accordance with OEM specifications
  • The assembled unit is pressure tested to ensure flawless operation

This service is available for all 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines with cylinder bores of 160 mm or more.
We also maintain a large inventory of oversize plungers, enabling rapid turnaround times — often within just a few days.

With YAF Engineering, you benefit from precision engineering, minimized costs, and extended component life — all without compromising performance.
