Laser cladding allows us to rebuild worn piston grooves with minimal heat input, preserving the structural integrity of cast iron pistons and achieving OEM dimensional accuracy.

Our standard repair procedure includes:

  • Cleaning of the piston, followed by dye penetrant inspection, groove calibration, and technical reporting
  • Pre-machining of piston grooves to remove damaged material
  • Preheating of the piston before welding
  • Robotic laser cladding using specialized hard-facing metal powders
  • CNC machining of grooves to restore standard dimensions
  • Application of antifriction coating on groove surfaces
  • Final dimensional and visual inspection with complete reporting

This advanced repair method allows cost-effective recovery of cast iron pistons, reducing the need for full replacement and ensuring reliable performance under high thermal and mechanical loads.
